(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Dec.10/2013) The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alex Tyler, has again reminded Montserrado County residents to approach the National Oil Reform Law discussions in a nationalistic manner.

Speaker Tyler said: “The primary issue of the National Oil Reform Law is how it can benefit all Liberians and not only a segment of the people.”

“Your county has many challenges, however your focus must be on the oil discussion,” the head of the House of Representatives told the residents of Montserrado County.

“No amount of criticisms will distract the House’s attention from the National Oil Reform Law discussions,” the Speaker also told the residents.

Also speaking at the official opening of the talks, Montserrado County Superintendent, Florence Brandy, called for allocation of portion of the oil wealth to the county’s development needs.

Superintendent Brandy commended President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and Members of the National Legislature for the ordinary people’s involvement in the on-going consultations on Liberia’s Oil reform Law.

Montserrado County is currently playing host to the National Oil Reform Law consultation, being conducted by the House of Representatives in the National Legislature.

The Nation-wide deliberations have already taken place in fourteen of Liberia’s fifteen sub-political divisions.
