(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Dec.11/2013) Nineteen Senior Officers of the Liberian National Police have returned to the country after completing a 4-month intensive training in Ghana.

The officers were drawn from various sections of the LNP, including the Police Support Unit (PSU) and Professional Standards.

They were trained at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

The 19 police officers were trained in Public Administration and Police Leadership Management, among others.

Speaking Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the Roberts International Airport (RIA), the Deputy Director Commandant at the National Police Training Academy, Samuel Dakana, said: “The training was aimed at building the Senior Police Officers’ capacities.”

Attorney Dakana said: “The training is intended to ensure that the officers effectively handle command and control not only at the Police Headquarters, but a decentralized approach.”

The training, supported by Irish Aid, is concentrating on post graduate diploma, post certificate and certificate.

Attorney Dakana said: “The training targeted Commissioners, Deputies and Assistant Commissioners, Chief Superintendents and Superintendents, as well as Chief Inspectors and Inspectors.”
