According to Dr. Luce, in the absence of coordination, the fight to contain the virus outbreak in Liberia and West Africa will be difficult.

He said: “This is why various international health organizations, including the United Nations, European Union, African Union, ECOWAS and MRU have joined the Liberian Government in efforts to combat the virus.

“As such authorities in Bomi County must involve everyone in the fight against Ebola, the only way cases of the virus will be reduced in the county,” Dr. Luce also said.

The WHO Technical Assistant to Bomi County Health Team made the statement Saturday, September 21, 2014 in Tubmanburg.

Dr. Luce spoke when Plan International-Liberia donated to the county several anti-Ebola materials, valued more than US$12,000.

Meanwhile, Bomi County Civil Society Coordinator and the Rural Women President, Boimah Sando and Mary Varney, respectively, say the high level of denial of the virus in the county is a major challenge in the Ebola fight in the area.

Tubmanburg is the provincial capital of Bomi County, in the western Liberian region.
