(www.elbcradio.com/Liberia/Oct. 1, 2014)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf says building more facilities to enhance the Ebola fight and prevent its spread remains vital.

President Johnson-Sirleaf said: “The construction of such health facilities is part of the national strategy presented the National Legislature recently.”

According to Presidential Press Secretary, Jerelimick Piah, the presentation of the National Strategy was made Monday, September 29, 2014 at a closed-door meeting in the Legislature’s joint chamber at the Capital in Monrovia.

Mr. Piah made the statements when he spoke to journalists following the President’s closed-door meeting with the legislators.

The National Strategy has already been endorsed by the National Ebola Task Force.

It includes partnership support in the Ebola fight, resources needed and government’s economic recovery plan during and after the outbreak.

The Presidential Press Secretary said: “The Liberian Leader’s visit to the National Legislature was also intended to promote government information sharing, strengthen coordination and collaboration, and enhance transparency.”

“During the meeting, the Liberian President briefed the lawmakers on the overall situation of the Ebola Virus,” he also noted.

“She further briefed them on efforts by government to eradicate the killer disease and improve the citizenry’s wellbeing,” the Presidential Press Secretary also said.

Mr. Piah further quotes President Johnson-Sirleaf as praising Montserrado County District Number 13 Representative, Saah Joseph, for his selfless efforts to serve humanity.

“The President also praised the Medical Director of the ELWA-II Ebola Treatment Center, Jerry Brown, for his incredible contribution to saving humanity during the Ebola crisis,” he quoted the Liberian Leader as also saying.
