Six Police officers charged with manslaughter

(elbcradio.com/Liberia/Oct.20,2014)-Six officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) have been charged and sent to court in connection with the death of a Fula man, Mamadu Jalloh.

They were charged with “manslaughter” by the LNP.

The six LNP officers include Chief Inspector, David Kennedy, Inspector Julius Myers, Sergeant Edward Hoff, Otis Ross, Patrolman Rudolph Clinton and Wilbert Weawon.

Recently, the lifeless body of Jalloh was seen lying in a pool of blood in front of the police check point at the ELWA Junction in Paynesville.

According to Police Spokesman, Sam Collins, preliminary investigation established that the officers used excessive force on Jalloh that resulted to the Fula man’s death.

Prior to his death, Mamadu Jalloh was engaged in shoe shining near the entrance of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) Compound.
