(elbcradio.com/Liberia/Oct. 28, 2014)-Despite the ban placed on on-field foot-balling in Liberia, some clubs have not shut down their administrative businesses.

The on-field foot-balling ban was due to the ebola outbreak in the country.

This was shown recently by two local clubs concluding negotiations to transfer a young enterprising football star whenever the transfer window opens in Liberia.

Liberia Football Association First Division Champion, Barracks Young Controllers (BYC) and Second division outfit, ELWA United FC, few days ago, agreed to the transfer deal of Liberia’s Lone Star under-20 striker, Van Dave Harmon.

Striker Harmon is the ELWA United FC’s all-time lead-goal scorer and may become a BYC player once the LFA announces the opening of the transfer window in the country.

The football star has spent three seasons with ELWA United FC.

According to report, the Liberian under-20 forward has already agreed personal terms with the Liberian Champions, but will have to wait for the opening of the transfer window to complete the move.

The amount involved in the proposed deal remains undisclosed, though the player is said to be happy to make the move to BYC. ELWA United FC President, Rufus Luoh, made the disclosure in Paynesville Monday, October 20, 2014 when he spoke to Elbcsports.

Confirming the report, Mr. Luoh said: “The club believes it’s the right time for the player to move on elsewhere to face another challenge.”

He also said: “The player has scored the needed grades at the Club and as such, it is necessary to give him an opportunity to play in the top flight of the Liberian Football League.”

“Parting company with ELWA United FC is a hard decision to make, but with the support of the entire club, I will have a bit of relief to leave his childhood team,” the Striker also said.

Harmon netted 71 goals for his club during the three seasons in the LFA National League. It remains uncertain whether the transfer window will open soon in Liberia, because football activities continue to be held back due to Ebola fear.

Barrack Young Controllers is due to represent Liberia at the next preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, expected to kick-off in early 2015.

Ahead of that development, the Perry Street Club is exerting every effort to strengthen their squad by attracting to the club prolific goal scorers, including Van Dave Harmon, in preparation of the 2015 season.

BYC were not impressive in their last two CAF Competitions, failing in the preliminary rounds on both occasions.
