(elbcradio.com/Liberia/Oct. 31, 2014)-A consignment of medical equipment and accessories has arrived in Liberia from the State of Kuwait.

According to a dispatch from the Liberian Embassy in Kuwait, the 470 boxes of medical items were donated by the Kuwaiti Government to aid Liberia in its fight against the Ebola Virus.

The dispatch quotes Liberia’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Konah Blackett, as saying: “The medical supplies, valued at over US$45,000, include non-woven surgical face mask-ear loops, and disposable face mask.”

Ambassador Blackett also named non-woven surgical face mask-ties, medical gloves powered alcohol swab pad, among others as other medical supplies imported into Liberia by the Kuwaiti Government.

“The medical items are expected to help reinforce the Liberian Government’s strides to eradicate the deadly disease from the country,” the dispatch said.

It also noted: “Ambassador Blackett negotiated and procured the items from the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Taiba Hospital and IMS in Kuwait, Dr. Sanad Al-Fadala.”

Meanwhile, the Liberian Embassy near Kuwait says it is gratified by the humanitarian gestures by Dr. Sanad Rashed Al-Fadala and Dr. Nabeel Abdul Raheem to enhance the country’s capacity in the Ebola crisis.
