(elbcradio.com/Liberia/Nov. 16, 2014)-The National Legislature’s Joint Public Account Committee says it has discovered series of malpractices at few government functionaries.

The Legislative Joint Public Account Committee named the Justice, Gender and Education Ministries as being allegedly involved in malpractices.

The Committee also named the National Port Authority (NPA) and the Roberts International Airport as other public entities allegedly engaged in malpractices.

The Legislative Joint Public Account Committee Chairman, Edward Dagoseh, said: “These malpractices range from procurement, administrative, and fraud to non-functional audit system, among others.”

The Grand Cape Mount County Senator also said: “The Legislative Joint Public Account Committee will no longer tolerate the culture of corruption in the public sector.”

“The Committee’s report has already been endorsed by the National Legislature and it has been sent to President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf for prompt action,” Senator Dagoseh added.
