(www.elbcradio.com/Liberia/Friday,Dec. 5, 2014-The Liberia Chapter of the West African Examinations Council says students from the Firestone-Liberia School System are the best performing students in both Exams.

WAEC-Liberia Head, John Gayvolor, also named four students of the J. J. Roberts United Methodist School as the second best performing students in the Exams.

Mr. Gayvolor made the pronouncement in Monrovia Thursday, December 4, 2014 when it released results of the 2014 West Africa Senior School Certificate Exams (WASCE) and the regular WAEC Exams.

Despite the level of performance of the two schools at the Exams, Mr. Gayvolor said: “The overall student performance in 2014 is appalling as compared to students’ during previous years.”

He said: “Out of the 442 schools that presented candidates for the exams, only 48% of the candidates made a successful pass.”

The WAEC-Liberia Boss told elbcradio.com: “No candidate obtained Division-One this year, while five candidates (all males) obtained Division-Two.

“The Junior High School WAEC results were fair, considering the number of students who sat the exams,” Mr. Gayvolor added.
