VP Boakai donates computers to LBS

(elbcradio.com/Liberia/Dec/17/2014)-Vice President, Joseph Boakai, says Digital Migration for the Liberia Broadcasting System is  critical ahead of the July 2015 deadline.

Vice President Boakai underscored the need to galvanize support for the National Broadcaster to meet the deadline of the Digital Migration Age.

He said: “Moving LBS toward the new Digital Age is crucial.  I have LBS on mind to  start the process in meeting up with the deadline to get the Station on course”.

“My contribution is intended to beef up the logistical strength of LBS because I am aware of the enormous challenges the System is being faced with, “Vice President Boakai emphasized.

He made the statement Wednesday, December 17, 2014 when he presented ten units of Korean  made  Samsung Desk top Computers through his Press Secretary, George Saah to the Management of the Liberia Broadcasting System in Paynesville.

Receiving the computers on behalf of LBS  Management, the System’s Deputy Director General for Media Services, Patrick Honnah, said: “Vice President Boakai has always been a staunch supporter and listener of the station”. 

Mr. Honnah said: Barely six months as of July 2015, should Liberia be migrating into the new Digital Age. Therefore, we need all the logistical support to get us there”.

He thanked Vice President Boakai and assured him that the computers will be used for the intended purpose.
