Govt consoles Singapore, Indonesia on plane crash

(elbcradio.com/Liberia/ Jan. 7, 2015)-The Liberian government has sent two separate messages of condolence to the Governments and Peoples of Singapore and Indonesia.

Recently, Air Asia Q28501 crashed into the Java Sea while en route from Sunbaya, Singapore, killing 160 people on board.

President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf extended condolences to President Tony Tan, the Government and People of Singapore, especially the bereaved families for the loss sustained as a result of the plane crash.

President Sirleaf said: “On behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, I pray that God will grant President Tan and the People of Singapore strength, courage and fortitude during this period of mourning.”

In her message to the Government and People of Indonesia, President Sirleaf also extended condolences to the Indonesian people, particularly the bereaved families for the loss sustained.

In like manner, the Liberian Leader noted:” It is my prayerful hope that Allah will grant President Koko Wikdodo and the People of Indonesia strength and courage during the period of national distress.”

According to an Executive Mansion release, President Sirleaf sent the messages of condolence to Singapore and Indonesia Tuesday, January 6, 2015, expressing Government’s shock and apathy in the spirit of true friendship.
