(elbcradio.com/Liberia/Jan. 16, 2015)-The Liberian Presidency has clarified that President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has no interest in who becomes Pro-tempore of the Liberian Senate.

Presidential Press Secretary, Jeremick Piah, said: “It was not even possible for President Johnson-Sirleaf to influence any decision on the process.”

Mr. Piah argued that President Johnson-Sirleaf could not influence any decision on the process.

He based his argument on the assumption that those in the Senate are people who will not allow such to happen, because they have wisdom.

The Presidential Press Secretary made the clarification recently when he spoke to ELBC in Paynesville.

Mr. Piah also said: “The Liberian Leader was concerned about developments at the Senate and would be working along with the august body to move the country’s agenda forward.”

“The President is now pre-occupied with her Annual Message, scheduled to be delivered on the 4th working Monday and not with issues that will distract her attention,” the Presidential Press Secretary added.
