UNICEF extols Liberians willingness to help fight Ebola

elbcradio.com/Liberia/Jan. 26, 2015)-UNICEF Program Division Director, Ted Chaiban, is commending Liberians for voluntarily spreading Ebola awareness messages throughout the country.

Mr. Chaiban said such volunteer effort, demonstrated by Liberians, subsequently reversed the spread of the virus in Liberia.

He said: “The world had thought that Liberia would have been overwhelmed by the Ebola outbreak, because of the kind of medical facilities the country has.”

The UNICEF Program Division Director made the statement Saturday, January 24, 2015 when he addressed community leaders and, Block and Borough Councils at the Administrative Building in New Kru Town, Bushrod Island.

New Kru Town is a municipality of the Liberian Capital, Monrovia.

“Even in the midst of the major challenge to prevent the infection and the fear that the virus was created, Liberian volunteers are, nevertheless, moving from house-to-house hunting the virus.

Also in the midst of such major challenge, coupled with the loss of lives and livelihood, Liberians are continuously braving the risk involved in the infection prevention.
