(elbcradio.com/Liberia/Jan. 27, 2015) -The United Nations has reported Liberia’s progress in the fight against Ebola.

In his January 12, 2015 report to the President of the UN General Assembly, UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon, said for the first time in several months, there were no new cases recorded in the country.

President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf made the disclosure Monday, January 26, 2015 when delivered her State-of-the-Nation Address at the Joint Session of the National Legislature in Monrovia.

President Johnson-Sirleaf, however, noted: “The current level of progress does not mean that the pandemic was eradicated from Liberia.”

She praised the country’s Incident Management Team for demonstrating the capacity and the commitment to achieving the established target.
