China, Egypt to support Liberias post- Ebola recovery

(elbcradio.com/Liberia/January 30, 2015)-The Governments of China and Egypt have renewed their support towards Liberia’s post-Ebola recovery programs.

Liberian Foreign Minister, Augustine Ngafuan, said China and Egypt pledged their unwavering commitments Monday, January 26, 2015 during a meeting with representatives of the two countries.

A Foreign Ministry dispatch quotes Minister Ngafuan as saying: “The discussions highlighted wide range of issues, particularly within the context of African solidarity.”

” The discussions also focused on the deepening bilateral ties and support to Liberia in its fight against Ebola,” he said.

Minister Ngafuan is heading a Liberian delegation attending the 24th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

He extolled China and international partners’ solidarity with the Government and people of Liberia during the height of the Ebola crisis.

Responding, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister hailed President Sirleaf’s strong and effective leadership in the fight against Ebola.

He expressed on behalf of Chinese President deepest condolences to President Sirleaf for the losses sustained as a result of Ebola outbreak in Liberia.
