Turkey gives Liberia medical equipment

(elbcradio.com/Liberia/Feb. 2, 2015)-A huge consignment of medical equipment and pharmaceutical products, valued over US$306,000, has arrived in Liberia.

The medical items were donated by the Government of Turkey as part of its contribution to Liberia’s Ebola fight and its post-Ebola recovery initiative.

Presenting the items, Turkey’s Honorary Consul to Liberia, Lusini Kamara, said: “The donation demonstrates the Turkish Government’s concern about the Ebola situation and its commitment to assisting Liberia defeat the virus.”

Mr. Kamara said the Government of Turkey will continue supporting Liberia throughout the country’s tough times.

Receiving the consignment, Liberia’s Chief of Protocol, Rufus Neufville, expressed President Johnson-Sirleaf’s appreciation to the people and Government of Turkey for the gesture.
