(elbcradio.com/Liberia/Feb. 16, 2015)-Several prominent Liberians, described as Ebola Heroes, have been honored by the Gender International Magazine.

The personalities include Representative Saah Joseph, Musician, Emma Smith, and Doctors Jerry Brown, Moses Sonka and Gabriel Logan, among others.

The prominent Liberians were honored at the weekend for their tremendous contributions to the fight against Ebola in Liberia and the MRU basin. Representative Joseph and Musician Smith were among some Liberians who bravely fought the Ebola epidemic both at home and in Sierra Leone.

They fought the pandemic by providing means of transport (Ambulances) and other assistance to Ebola-affected people.

Madam Smith was among the first few Liberians, involved in massive Ebola awareness campaign, producing music and providing assistance to health centers and Ebola survivors.

Responding on behalf of her colleagues, honoree Smith commended Gender International Magazine for the recognition accorded them.

She re-emphasized the need for the establishment of a regional task force to combat the Ebola disease and other disasters that may arise in West Africa in the future.

The Gender International Magazine’s award was the second in six days for Madam Smith as she was earlier honored and certificated by the Ebola orphans and Survival Project.
