Prez. Sirleaf arrives in the United States

(elbcradio.com/Feb. 25, 2015)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, along with delegation, is in Washington D.C. on a 3-day official visit to the United States.

Upon arrival in the American Capital, President Johnson-Sirleaf met with officials of the Liberian Embassy, where she received a detailed briefing from former U.S. Ambassador to Liberia, Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

The former U.S. Ambassador is now a senior official of the U.S. State Department. President Johnson-Sirleaf will, Thursday, address an event on Capitol Hill, where she is expected to thank the American Government and people for their support to Liberia’s Ebola fight.

She will also appeal to the U.S. Government for additional support to ongoing recovery efforts of Liberia and other Ebola- affected neighboring countries.

While in the United States, the Liberian Leader will also meet with Secretary John Kerry at the State Department and will later dialogue with U.S. President, Barack Obama, at the White House.

President Johnson-Sirleaf’s official delegation includes Ambassador Jeremiah Sulunteh, Finance and Development Planning Minister, Amara Konneh, and Information Minister, Lewis Brown.
