(elbcradio.com/March 5, 2015)-Vice President, Joseph Boakai, says the provision of safe drinking water for Liberians and foreign residents is cardinal in the prevention of several diseases, including Ebola throughout the country.

Vice President Boakai said: “Water is life. Every aspect of human existence requires water to some extent.”

“Therefore, importance of water cannot be over emphasized, especially in a nation still recovering from a devastating Ebola crisis,” he said.

The Liberian Vice President spoke Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the official commissioning ceremony of the Water Facility Pipeline Extension Project in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County.

The Project was financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Liberia Municipal Water Project.

It is part of a 30- million United States Dollar Initiative for Robertsport, Voinjama and Sanniquellie in Cape Mount, Lofa and Nimba Counties respectively.

Vice President Boakai commended USAID through the U.S Embassy near Monrovia for the Project.

He called on residents of Robertsport to utilize the water facility and to ensure the maintenance and sustenance of the Project.
