Liberia condemns suicide bombing in Nigeria

Arthur Douglas/Joseph T. Koon

( Liberian Government has condemned Boko Haram‘s use of young girls for suicide bombing in Nigeria.

Government described the act by the Islamic militant group as inhumane and barbaric.

The Liberian Government’s condemnation was contained in a statement by President Sirleaf during an interview with France 24 in Brussels recently.

In her statement, the President welcomed regional efforts to fight Boko Haram, but emphasized: “There was a compelling need for an African Union Rapid Response Force.”

Sometime in 2014, the Boko Haram Militant Group abducted over two hundred girls in Chibok, Nigeria, a situation which triggered international condemnations and efforts to secure the release of the girls.

Up to date, international efforts for the release of the abducted girls proved futile.
