Govt declares Cllr. Allisons death as natural

( 18, 2015)-The Government of Liberia has announced that Cllr. Michael Allison died from drowning.

Government’s pronouncement follows the release of a pathologist report of Cllr. Allison. Justice Minister, Cllr. Benedict Sannoh, made the pronouncement Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the regular press briefing of the Information Ministry in Monrovia

Minister, Sannoh, said: “Government has no evidence linking anyone to the death of Cllr. Allison.
“Cllr. Allison’s death was natural, contrary to reports that he was killed,” the Justice Minister said.

He described his death as an indictment for the Passport Division of the Foreign Ministry and the National Bar Association of Liberia, respectively.

The Justice Minister noted: “Cllr. Allison lived a dubious life because he had several identities bearing different passports and a questionable legal status prior to his death.”   

Recently, the body of Cllr. Michael Allision wasdiscovered on a beach in Sinkor, a suburb of the Liberian Capital, Monrovia.The mysterious death of Cllr. Allison triggeredGovernment’s swift intervention by hiring the services of Sierra Leonean and American pathologists to establish the cause of death.

Cllr. Michael Allison was the son of former Liberia’s Defense Minister, Major-General Gray D. Allison.

The former Defense Minister was killed by forces of the defunct National Patriotic Front (NPFL) while serving his jail sentence at the infamous Belle Yallah Prison Center in Lofa County now Gbarpolu County.

He was accused of plotting to overthrow the Government of former President, Samuel Kanyon Doe.
