Court orders arrest of Kortie, Keita for economic sabotage

(elbcradio.com/Mar. 25, 2015)-Criminal Court “C” has issued a writ of arrest for Messrs. David Kortie and Jusufu Keita on charges of economic sabotage, mis-application of entrusted property and criminal conspiracy.

The court issued the writ Tuesday in Monrovia.

Mr. Kortie, former Lofa County Representative, is the Publisher of Flash Point Newspaper, while Mr. Keita serves as Director of Communications at the Public Works Ministry.

The case involving the two men developed after an investigation by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC).

Prior to the writ, an indictment has since been drawn for the two men to face prosecution.
Sometime last year, the Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) accused Messrs. Kortie and Keita of dubbing Government.

According to the LACC, Mr. Kortie allegedly received over 12- thousand United States Dollars as Publisher of Flash Point for Public Relations purpose for the Public Works Ministry.

In its findings, the LACC discovered that Mr. Kortie failed to the job for which he received the money
Up to press time, it is not clear whether Messrs. Kortie and Keita have been arrested or not.
