(elbcradio.com/Mar. 26, 2015)-The Liberian Government has renewed its determination to strengthening Liberia-Bangladesh relations.

Government says it will continue working closely with Bangladesh to ensure that the two countries achieve the desired goal of their long-standing friendly ties and cooperation.

A  Foreign Ministry release says Government’s assurances were contained in a congratulatory message of President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf to Bangladesh in observance of its 44th Independence Anniversary.

In the message to her Bangladeshi counterpart, Abdul Hamid, President Sirleaf said:” I pray that God endows President Hamid with abundant wisdom and strength to lead his people to greater prosperity.”

The historic and excellent ties subsisting between Liberia and Bangladesh over the years have resulted into mutual benefits of both countries in the areas security, peace-building and political goodwill.

Currently, Bangladeshi Contingent of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) is providing military services following a 14- year civil crisis which grossly devastated the socio, economic and political advancement of Liberia.
