(elbcradio.com/April 3, 2015)-The Liberia Women National Football Team has advanced to the second round of the 2016 Olympic Qualifier.

The Lady Lone Star Team advanced to the next round of the qualifier slated to take place in Mid-April this year.

However, the points were awarded to the Liberian team after their opponent, Equatorial Guinea, withdrew from the tournament due to technical reasons.

They are now preparing for a tricky fixture against Cameroon Female National Team in May.

If all goes well with the Women Lone Star team with their   Cameroonian counterparts, there will be a match away from reaching the group stage.

Meanwhile, the Male Under-23 National Team kicked off preparation for their preliminary fixture against Ghana in about two weeks. They began training sessions last Tuesday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium under the watchful eyes of Coach Thomas Kojo.

This followed an orientation of players and coaches of the various national teams by the LFA.
