(elbcradio.com/April 10, 2015)-The Liberian Government says the General Commission (GAC) has released audit report on the expenditures of the National Ebola Trust Fund.

An Information Ministry release quotes Government as saying it requested for the audit to provide assurance of  funds alloted.

The audit also included private donations and grants from international partners to the National Ebola Trust Fund.

Government said the GAC report on expenditures of the National Ebola Trust Fund is consistent with its policy of transparency and accountability.

“Government will continue to engage in continuous financial and procedural audits of its expenditures and operations to improve the governance system,” the statement said.

In the statement, Government assured the public that if the need arises for corrective measures based on the findings recommendations of the audit, it will submit to same.

Meanwhile, Government is commending various integrity institutions, including the GAC for their fight against corruption.

The General Auditing Commission (GAC) is the only agency responsible to conduct audits for all Government functionaries for transparency and accountability.

During the height of the Ebola crisis, the Government of Liberia received several donations both at home and abroad.
