(elbcradio.com/Apr. 17, 2015)-Police Director, Col. Chris Massaquoi, has announced the arrests of several persons in connection with Thursday’s riot in Paynesville.

Director Massaquoi said: “A thorough investigation is ongoing and that perpetrators of the violence will face the full force of the law.”

“The police will deal drastically with individuals bent on taking the law into their own hands, The Police Director emphasized.

On Friday morning, the Director Police, along with Defense Minister, Brownie Samukai, conducted a tour to assess the damage done to police facilities.

Reports say at least seven police stations were destroyed by the mob action which also paralyzed normal business activities. 

About eight Police officers sustained injuries while attempting to calm the situation.

Meanwhile, Director Massaquoi is calling on the public to go about their normal activities, as the situation has been brought under control.
