( 28, 2015)-Barrack Young Controllers Chief Executive Officer, Robert Sirleaf, says making BYC a torch notch football club in Liberia and Africa remains his firm dream.

Mr. Sirleaf said BYC will continue striving to help professionalize football in Liberia and creating avenues for young footballers to empower them economically while playing the game.

The BYC Chief Executive Officer made the statement over the week-end in an interview with our sports reporter in Monrovia.

The Club’s CEO emphasized: “Building competitive spirit in every aspect of football in Liberia is cardinal for the development of the game in the country.”

Mr. Sirleaf said: “A little over US$2-million was used for constructing a mini stadium for the club and for running the club during the past years.”

So far, BYC is the first and the only Liberian sports club that constructed their own playing facility two years ago.
The stadium, capable of hosting more than four thousand football fans, contains a club house for the players.

Also, since the arrival of Mr. Sirleaf at BYC nine years ago, the club has won nine local titles in six years.
These many achievements have placed them atop other local football teams in the country.

Mr. Sirleaf and staff have continued receiving public commendations for the level of work being carried out at BYC.

Historically, the managements of the two leading football clubs in Liberia, including Invincible Eleven (IE) and Mighty Barrolle, have not been able to construct playing facilities for their respective clubs.

Invincible Eleven and Mighty Barrolle are highly credited for producing some of the country’s best soccer players on the international scene.

BYC was founded in 1997 and since then, the club has immensely been transformed into being Liberia’s leaders in football.
