Prez Sirleaf congratulates Togo, Sierra Leone

( 28, 2015)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has congratulated the Government and people of Togo on the 55th Independence Day of that country.

In her message to Togolese President, Faure Gnassingbe, President Johnson-Sirleaf extended sincere felicitations to the Government and people of Togo.

The Liberian Leader then hoped that the two countries will continue working together to strengthen the already ties, friendship and cooperation existing between them.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, the Liberian President prayed that God will continue endowing President Gnassingbe with wisdom and strength to lead his compatriots to greater prosperity.

At the same time, President Johnson-Sirleaf has also sent a congratulatory message to the Government and people of Sierra Leone on the occasion marking its 54th Independence Anniversary.

In her message to her Sierra Leonean Counterpart, President Bai Koroma, President Johnson-Sirleaf extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of Sierra Leone.

The Liberian Chief Executive further noted: “The observance of the 54th Independence Anniversary of Sierra Leone comes at a critical period when the three Mano River Union (MRU) Countries have committed themselves to utilizing the full potentials of their peoples.”

“Sierra Leone’s 54th Independence Anniversary also comes at a critical time when the three MRU Countries have devoted themselves to mobilizing available resources to rid the Sub-Region of the deadly Ebola virus.”

“Despite the huge challenges posed by Ebola, the Sierra Leonean people have shown extraordinary courage and resilience that confirm their resolve to building a vibrant nation,” President Johnson-Sirleaf added.
