Prez Sirleaf, a pillar of democracy-Prez Ouattara

(elbcradio.com/Apr. 29, 2015)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has been described as a “pillar of democracy in Africa.

Ivorian President, Alassan Ouattara, made the statement Friday, April 24, 2015 in Abidjan, where President Johnson-Sirleaf paid a two-day official working visit.

The Liberian Leader, along with delegation, was in Abidjan at the invitation of President Ouattara.

President Ouattara reaffirmed solidarity with the Liberian Government and people, and congratulated President Johnson-Sirleaf for the remarkable efforts in the fight against Ebola.

Also speaking, President Johnson-Sirleaf expressed hope that Liberia could benefit from the expertise of Ivory Coast, particularly in four major sectors, including agriculture, electricity, water and road.

She thanked her Ivorian Counterpart for his leadership role in ECOWAS and the Mano River Union (MRU).

“It has helped in acceleration regional integration, peace and stability in West Africa,” the Liberian Leader emphasized.

According to an Executive Mansion release, the two West African Leaders briefly discussed their respective countries’ presidential elections, especially in the ECOWAS Sub-region.

She then wished they would be free, fair and peaceful.
President Johnson-Sirleaf and Ouattara were particularly pleased with the democratic conduct and peaceful election in Nigeria
