(elbcradio.com/April 30, 2015)-The Liberian Women National Football team has been withdrawn from the 2016 Olympic qualifiers.

LFA officials told elbc online sports that the decision to withdraw the women Lone Star team from the Brazil Olympic qualifiers is based on administrative reasons.

Report reaching elbc online sports desk says the team was due to play away to the Cameroon Women National Team next month (May, 2015) in round-two of the 2016 Brazil Olympic competition.

The Liberian Women Football Team reached the second round earlier April without kicking a ball. The team qualified for the round as a result of the Guinea Bissau’s decision to pull out of the first round.

They were scheduled to have played their Liberian counterparts in the first round of the Brazil Olympic qualifiers.

LFA inside sources also told our sports desk that finding venues for home games and traveling abroad to honor international matches were key constraints that limited the capacity of the local FA to continue with the team in the qualifying rounds.

Liberia is currently barred from hosting international matches at home, because of the Ebola crisis that rocked the original MRU basin.
