Liberia Coca Cola Cup set for Friday, 2nd May

( 1, 2 015)-The draw for the Liberia Coca Cola Tournament has taken in Paynesville, outside the Liberian Capital, Monrovia. 

The draw took place Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the LFA Headquarters with a decision re-admitting Invincible Eleven (IE) into the tournament.

According to LFA Vice President for Operations, Cassell Kouh, the Liberia Football Association (LFA) dropped IE from the tournament and replaced by LISCR FC.

Mr. Kouh said the LFA’s decision was based on the club’s failure to honor the recent media launch Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the local FA’s Headquarters in Paynesville. 

The re-admittance of IE into Coca Cola Competition was followed by its placement as a seeded team in group B after pairing it against FC Fassell, Aries and NPA Anchors.

The Wednesday draw also placed Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) in Group A against Nimba United, Mighty Barrolle, and LISCR FC.

LISCR FC is rather replacing Watanga FC with reports that the club had asked to be replaced, because its players’ un-readiness for the tournament.

The LFA Official also said the tournament will feature eight teams, including Barrack Young Controllers (BYC), Nimba United, Mighty Barrolle and LISCR FC.
Others are Invincible Eleven (IE), Aries, F.C. Fassell, and NPA Anchors.

The Pre-season soccer engagement will kick off Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Blue field with two matches in which the Blue Warriors of BYC will engage Nimba United in game one.

LISCR FC will try to prove to its fans and the organizers why they should be a part of the tournament when they face the Kanyan Pepper Boys of Mighty Barrolle in the second game of the day.

Liberia “Darling Club,” Invincible Eleven (IE), will take on Aries in game two Saturday, following the game between F.C. Fassell and NPA Anchors on the same day.
Two teams will qualify from each of the groups for the semifinals.

One hundred seventy thousand Liberian dollars is the as the monetary prize for the winners of the tournament.

The Liberia Coca Cola Bottling Company has put up L$170,000.00 as the monetary prize for the winners of the tournament as the losing finalists will receive l$85,000.00.
