(elbcradio.com/May 1, 2015)-Public Works Minister, Gyude Moore, says government needs over US$2-billion to pave roads leading to county capitals.

Minister More, however, said because of the high cost involve in road construction, government had decided to focus on “development corridors.”

He named the development corridors as the road connecting Monrovia to Tapitta, through Ganta, Tapitta to Zwedru, Zwedru to Happer and Gbarnga to Menikoemah, through Voinjama, among others.

Minister More said negotiations have begun with a Chinese construction firm to do the Tapitta – Zwedru road.

Government has also spoken with the World Bank to do the feasibility study on the Ganta – Tapitta high way, he further noted.

The Public Works Minister said: “The Ganta – Yekepa road project is on course, and the bridge between Liberia and La Cote D’Ivoire in the South-east will also be built.”

Meanwhile, Minister Moore says his mini priority has been to complete all inherited projects done with quality.
