(elbcradio.com/May 4, 2015)- Liberia’s Under 23 National Football Team has been eliminated from the qualifying rounds of the 2016 Olympic scheduled to take place in Brazil, South America.

The Liberian side suffered a 5-1 humiliation at the hands of the Black Meteors of Ghana in the second leg qualifying match.

The second leg, a home match, could not be played in Liberia, because of the Ebola situation in the country.
It was rather played Saturday, May 2, 2015 in Tamale, Northern Ghana.

Cooper Gypia, a USA-based player, scored the lone goal for Liberia on his debut. Cooper plays in the USA for his University soccer team.

He was made to play after Herron Berran Club had requested that he returns to Sweden, following the first leg in which Liberia lost 2-0 at the same venue.
Liberia finished the two legs on 7-1 aggregate after losing the first leg 1-0.
