(elbcradio.com/May 5, 2015)-The Management of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) has honored four of its employees as Outstanding Workers of the month of April.

The honoring ceremony was held Friday, May 1, 2015 at the LBS’s premises in Paynesville and it marked the System’s participation in the observance of 2015 World Labor Day/”May Day.”

The Day was declared by the LBS Management as a partial holiday.  Each of the four employees received a certificate and cash award, following a democratic selection process by the entity’s entire workforce.

The first place award was won by Dennis Doe of the Rural Broadcasting Division and the second place by James Williams of the Technical Department.

Prince Kordorwalee of the Liberian National Television (LNTV) Section within the Media Services Division, and Samuel Alex of the Operation Department won the third and fourth place awards, respectively.

Speaking at the occasion, LBS Director-General, Ledgerhood Rennie, said: “This was a surprise and quiet planning done by the Senior Management Team; we will provide little food and light drinks at the end of the exercise for you to celebrate the day.”

Mr. Rennie congratulated Messrs Doe, Williams, Kordorwalee and Alex for their preferment and urged them to remain outstanding in the performance of their professional duties.

LBS Deputy Director-General for Media Services, Patrick Honnah, congratulated Messrs Doe, Williams, Kordorwalee and Alex for their colleagues’ preferment and urged them to remain outstanding in the performance of their professional duties.

The Deputy Director-Generals for Media Services, Administration, Rural Broadcasting, and Operations and Technical Services encouraged the General Staff to always demonstrate commitment, efficiency and effectiveness in performing their various responsibilities to ensure productivity.

They told the honorees: “Being the April month award winners doesn’t make you superior to your co-workers. Let the honors inspire you to do more, because other staff could become winners of the following months.”
