(elbcradio.com/May 7, 2015)-The European Union (EU) has provided over €2-million for the maintenance of the newly paved Buchanan road.

According to EU Deputy Authorizing Officer of the National Authorizing Office, Jerry Taylor, the money will finance the maintenance work for the next five years.
Mr. Taylor named some of the work as side-brushing, filling pot-holes, among others.

He told elbcradio.com Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in Paynesville that the project will begin immediately following the signing of the contract between the EU National Authorizing Office and contractors.

At the same time, the EU says it has supported the reopening of schools by providing access to clean and safe water to more than 500 schools in Liberia.

The European Union further noted that materials for the water are being installed by NGOs across the country.
