Liberia Coca Cola Tournament reaches semi finals

(elbcradio.com/May 8, 2015)-Invincible Eleven (IE) will face Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) in the first semifinal of the Coca Cola top eight clubs football tournament Friday at the Blue Field.

IE, affectionately called, the ‘Yellow Boys,’ advanced to the semis Wednesday, May 6, 2015 after a 1-1 draw with ten-man FC Fassell.

That result means, IE finished the round robin as Group B runners-up after NPA Anchors won over Aries in the late game.

The NPA Anchors defeated Aries 2-0 to clinch top-spot in the group and advanced to the semis to face Nimba United.
Weaka Peters and Delesor Konneh scored NPA’s two goals in the first half.

Following the game, NPA Head Coach, Abraham Sesay, said: “It will be a huge boast for my coaching career, if my side wins the Coca Cola Tournament.”

Aries finished the tournament without a win, but their Head Coach, Arab Fofana, thinks it was a good showing for his side as they prepare for the upcoming national league.

The Liberia Coca Cola Bottling top eight club tournament’s semifinal matches will take place Friday, May 8 at the Blue field.

In the Friday semifinal showdown, IE will face BYC in game one and NPA will go against Nimba United in game two.

The tournament’s participants included, FC Fassell, Mighty Barrolle, LISCR FC, Aries, IE, NPA, Nimba United and BYC.
