AU praises Liberia for Ebola free certification

(elbcradio.com/May 12, 2015)-Liberia has been praised by the African Union for the country’s certification as an Ebola-free nation.

Liberia was officially certificated Monday, May 11, 2015 by the World Health Organization as an Ebola-free nation at a thanksgiving service in Monrovia.

The well-attended service was held at the Centennial Memorial Pavilion on Ashmun Street. Speaking at the ceremony, the AU Commission Chairperson said the Ebola-free declaration represents victory for the Liberian Government and people.

Dr. Nkosazana Zuma also recognized all partners’ efforts in rallying solidarity to support Liberia in the fight against the Ebola virus disease. Dr. Zuma made the statement Saturday, May 9, 2015 in a dispatch from the Ethiopian Capital, Addis Ababa.
