Chinas assistance to Liberia is timely-Prez Sirleaf

( 13, 2015)-President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has described the Chinese Government’s assistance to Liberia in the country’s fight against Ebola as timely.

President Johnson-Sirleaf praised the  Chinese Government for being one of the first to lift medical supplies to Liberia during the peak of the Ebola crisis.
She also commended soldiers of China’s Revolutionary Army for their hard work in constructing the Ebola

Treatment Unit (ETU) at the Samuel Kanyon Doe (SKD) Sports Complex in Paynesville.
The Liberian Leader spoke at programs marking the official turning over of the Chinese ETU to the Liberian Government.

At the same time, the President has broken grounds for the renovation of the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports complex.

complex renovation took place at the SKD Sports Complex.
In a related development, Chinese Ambassador, Zhang Yue, has reassured Chinas continuous stand by Liberia as a reliable partner and friend in the post Ebola era.

Ambassador Chang said: “China will cooperate in areas like Agriculture, Education, Infrastructure, Manufacturing Industry, amongst others.”

He spoke Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at programs marking the handover of the Chinese ETU to the Liberian Government and the ground breaking of SKD Sports Complex renovation.

“With the handover of the ETU and ground breaking of the SKD Sports Complex’s renovation, other China-Aid projects will soon get a boost,” the Chinese Ambassador also noted.

Ambassador Chang named the projects as the Ministerial Complex, and annexes to the Capitol Building and the Monrovia Vocational Training Center (MVTC).

The Capitol Building is the official seat of Liberia’s National Legislature located in Monrovia, while the MVTC is one of the country’s few tertiary institutions located in Paynesville, Liberia’s second famous and largest commercial city.
