Prez Sirleaf attends ECOWAS Summit in Accra, Ghana

(elbcradio.com/May 19, 2015)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has arrived in Accra, Ghana to attend the 47th Ordinary Session of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government.

President Johnson-Sirleaf was met on arrival Monday May 18, 2015 by   Ghana’s Vice President, Kweisi Amissah-Arthur at the Kotoka International Airport.

The Liberian Leader is attending the summit at the invitation of Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama.
President Mahama currently Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS.

Though the meeting’s agenda is yet to be released, the deliberation is believed to be centered on issues of common interest and security challenges affecting the sub-region.

Previous ECOWAS meetings in Accra have been dominated by the integration agenda, the Ebola menace, challenges associated with terrorism such as those of the Boko Haram threat to parts of Chard, Cameroon, Nigeria, among others.

At the same time, the Liberian Leader is expected to return home today.
