Liberia and Japan sign US$4m Non-Project Grant Aid

(elbcradio.com/May 19, 2015)-Liberia and Japan have signed over US$4-million Non-Project Grant Aid for economic and social development.

Japanese Ambassador to Liberia, Kaoru Yoshimura, said the aid is part of his government’s contribution to the country’s post-Ebola recovery efforts.

Ambassador Kaoru also said Liberia needs massive international support to fully recover from the deadly virus.
The Japanese Ambassador spoke Monday, May 19, 2015 when he met with Acting Foreign Minister, Elias Shoniyin, at the Foreign Affairs Ministry in Monrovia.

Also speaking at the ministry, Acting Foreign Affairs Minister, Elias Shoniyin, thanked the Japanese Government for its unwavering support impacting on every sector of the Liberian society.

Acting Minister Shoniyin said the aid will significantly contribute to the achievement of Liberia’s post-Ebola recovery drive and look forward for greater cooperation between the two countries.
