Prez Sirleaf Extols Ghana for ECOWAS Summits success

( 20, 2015)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf says she appreciates the warm hospitality extended various Heads of State and government delegations at the just ended ECOWAS Summit.

President Johnson-Sirleaf lauded the various delegations for their efforts towards the success of the 47th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.

She also commended the various national delegations at the Summit for the excellent facilities placed at their disposal to ensure the success of the Summit.

The Liberian Leader emphasized that the warm hospitality extended the various Heads of State and government delegations at the meeting was done in a truly African fashion.

President Johnson-Sirleaf made the commendation recently on behalf of the ECOWAS Authority at the Community’s 47th Ordinary Session in Accra, Ghana.

According to a Dispatch from Accra, the Liberian President, speaking on behalf of her colleagues at the end of Summit, thanked out-going ECOWAS Authority Chairman, John Mahama, for his commitment to peace, security and good governance.

She also lauded Chairman Mahama for his remarkable leadership in steering the affairs of the regional community.

The Heads of State and Government, through President Johnson-Sirleaf, paid their colleague a well-deserved tribute for his contribution, as Chairman of the Authority, especially in the area of deepening the integration process in West Africa.

She also emphasized the consensus within the ranks of the ECOWAS Heads of State to acknowledge their highest regard to the Ghanaian Leader for the skill and effectiveness with which he presided over the Summit’s proceedings.

“These attributes, significantly contributed to the formulation of relevant decisions that fostered the integration process,” President Johnson-Sirleaf added. The Liberian has since return home Monday.
