(elbcradio.com/May 25, 2015)-Mohammed Varney scored 3 solid goals to brace an improved LISCR FC to eliminate Mighty Blue Angels from the ongoing President’s Cup tournament.

LISCR FC, with poor showings in past pre-season matches, showed sign of improvement as they dominated the match that resulted into a 3-0 win over Mighty Blue Angel.

Coach Cooper Sarnor said he was not much concerned about the victory, but about the improvement of the players.
Both Blue Angels and LISCR FC had a player, each, sent off for committing unwarranted fouls against their opponents.

Before that game, Barrack Young Controllers defeated New Boys Sesay FC 3-0, however, the New Second Division boys gave BYC a run for their money.
New Boys Sesay FC Head Coach, Theo Gbefor, said the defeat was not a disappointment for his side, but an experience gain.”

“We are not disappointed at all for the defeat, because this team is still in a learning process,” said Coach Theo.
He also said: “This team has been together for only three months and losing 3-0 to the biggest football club in Liberia at the moment is a sign that we will be great.”

Sesay FC is owned by a Liberian businessman, Abraham Sesay, owner of Red Power FM, the newest radio station in Liberia.

The first game produced five goals, with Jubilee FC welcoming their new President, George Kalando, with a 3-2 victory over ELWA United.

The draw for the second round of the President’s Cup is expected to take place soon at the LFA Headquarters in Monrovia.

The club officials made the statements Friday, May 22, 2015 when they spoke to reporters following the games at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia.
