Former German President, Kohler, praises Prez Sirleaf

(elbcradio.com/June 8, 2015)-The Federal Republic of Germany’s former President, Horst Kohler, has praised President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf for the level of development and peace she has restored to Liberia.

Dr. Kohler, formerly Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, also extolled the President Johnson-Sirleaf for her role at the UN High Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda.

He said the partnership between VOITH and the Liberian Government relating to the rehabilitation of the Mount Coffee Hydro Plant will help eradicate poverty and enhance growth in the country.

Africa is the new ''potential hub'' for global development, with Liberia having an important role in that growth,” Dr. Kohler said.

Members of the President Johnson-Sirleaf’s delegation included Lands, Mines and Energy Minister, Patrick Sandolo, Liberia's Ambassador to Germany, Ethel Davis, and LEC Board Chairman, Ian Yhap.

The President is in Germany to attend the 41st Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Group of Seven (G-7) nations.

The summit’s agenda includes the global economy, trade, security, development policy and foreign affairs, commenced June 7 and it is expected to end June 8.

It is also looking at the   upcoming UN Conferences and the UN Post-2015 Agenda, among others.
