( 12, 2015)-The African Capacity-building Foundation (ACBF) says it is willing to provide support to building the Liberian Government’s capacities in key priority areas as required.

The ACBF Executive Secretary, Emmanuel Nnadozie, said its support to Liberia will be tailored to the Government’s needs in key functionaries as identified by the Government.

Mr. Nnadozie made the offer in Johannesburg, South Africa Friday on June 12, 2015 at a meeting with President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf on the fringes of the 25th African Union Summit.

He said the first step to providing such valuable capacity-building support would be to conduct a need assessment of the country, in line with the Liberian Government.

Accepting the Initiative, President Johnson-Sirleaf said she was often concerned about such interventions as it would help improve Liberia’s governance structure through an independent review mechanism.

She said it was also important to provide an informed perspective of how the Government was performing and what areas needed to be strengthened.

The Liberian Leader further noted that under such support, the country’s Mac-economic Policy Analysis Capacity-Building Project (LIMPAC) can be strengthened.

Meanwhile, President Johnson-Sirleaf is expected to chair a Special Session of AU High Level Committee on the Post-2015 Development Agenda Saturday morning, June 13 in South African Capital, Johannesburg.
