Young African Leaders, US sign health education grant

(elbcradio.com/June 18, 2015)-A US$46,000.00 grant to improve health and education in Grand Bassa and Montserrado counties has been signed between the United States  and Mandela Washington for young African Leaders.

The two counties grant is intended to undertake immunization campaigns for children in Paynesville develop mentorship programs for youth and provide computer literacy and skills training for 2,000 youth.

While the grant, in Grand Bassa County will also be used to provide information on the prevention of infectious diseases to five communities in  .

The grant signing was held Wednesday, June 17, 2015 by the United States Government and the Alumni of the young African Leaders.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, U.S. Ambassador to Liberia, Deborah Malac, said: “My government would continue supporting well-meaning individuals and institutions to accelerate growth and development in the country.”

Ambassador Malac signed for the US Government, while Yassa Lavalah, James Greaves, Matthew Fred and James Mulbah signed for the Fellowship.
