(elbcradio.com/June 19, 2015)-The Liberian Government has clarified that there is no single case of Ebola reported in the country as being speculated.

The Head of the Incident Management Team, Tolbert Nyenswah, said contrary to the report, Liberia’s status still remains unchanged since the country was declared Ebola free in May by the World Health Organization (WH0).

Mr. Nyenswah described such report as baseless and erroneous.

“Liberians and foreign nationals should be cautious as cases of Ebola are still being reported in neighboring Sierra Leone and Guinea.” he noted.

Mr. Nyenswah said: “Liberian health authorities and their international partners are working to ensure that Liberia remains Ebola free.”

He urged Liberians, particularly marketers, engaged into cross-border trade to avoid sick people and adhere to the various Ebola prevention protocols.

Mr. Nyenswah made the clarification Thursday, June 18, 2015 at a news conference in Monrovia.

He further clarified that a sick woman who was brought into the country from Guinea has been tested by health authorities and was proven negative.-
