(elbcradio.com/June 25, 2015)-The Liberian Government has instituted a number of new measures to improve the education sector.

The new measures include the closure of all schools across the country by July 31, and the suspension of the WAEC exams during the current school year.

Education Minister, George Werner, made the pronouncement Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Information Ministry’s regular news conference in Monrovia.

Minister Werner also said the Education Ministry has reverted the current school year to the original academic calendar as part of the government’s new measures.

He noted that the actions are intended to provide Liberian students solid academic foundation and allow them more time in school to learn better.

We will bring you detail of this development in our subsequent publication.
