elbcradio.com/June 25, 2015)-The Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) Chief of Staff, Daniel Ziankan, says the Army is currently undergoing intensive training in Explosive Ordinance Disposal Capability (EODC).

Chief of Staff Ziankan said the training, ongoing in Bong County, is intended to adequately prepare the AFL to defend Liberia following the departure of the Union Mission in Liberia (UNMIL).

“The training will also prepare the officers to be able to diffuse and dispose of unexploded devices,” he also said. Gen. Ziankan recently returned from Timbuktu, Mali, where Liberian troops are on a peacekeeping mission.

“AFL soldiers are performing remarkably in Timbuktu. The troops’ performance has attracted international commendation in Mali,” the AFL Chief of Staff emphasized.-
