WHO reaffirms support to Liberias health Sector

(elbcradio.com/July 6, 2015)-The Deputy Country Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) has recommitted his organization’s support to Liberia’s health sector.

Dr. Emmanuel Musa said WHO will continue providing needed support to the Health Ministry to implement the country’s strategic plan to build a resilient health system.

Dr. Musa made the remarks recently at the end of a three-day stakeholders’ consultative meeting on “Strengthening National Capacity for Epidemic Preparedness, Surveillance and Response held at the Monrovia City Hall.
  
He said Liberia’s health sector has gained a lot of experiences from the Ebola crisis and it is crucial to translate such experiences into concrete action for disease eradication from the country.

The WHO official emphasized the importance of local and international partners working together to help Liberia build a strong and resilient health system to address the people’s health needs.

Dr. Musa then hoped that the recommendations from the stakeholders’ consultative meeting would be implemented to enhance the surveillance and response system of diseases in the country.-
