Liberia pays tribute to Intl Community for support

(elbcradio. com./July 28, 2015)-The Liberian Government has extolled ECOWAS and the International Community for their unprecedented support to Liberia during the Ebola crisis.

The Government recounted that the swift interventions by ECOWAS, WHO, the International Community and the resilient efforts by Liberians to defeat Ebola cannot go unnoticed.

Government’s commendation was contained in the Independence Message by President Ellen Johnson- Sirleaf at program marking Liberia’s 168thIndependence Anniversary in Greenville, Sinoe County.

President Sirleaf praised the cordial relations between Liberia and foreign missions accredited to the country.
“The unprecedented representations of foreign missions at our official functions on a regular basis demonstrate a sign of unity, “she noted.

.President Sirleaf described “unity” as the best approach Liberian can explore to achieve a sense purpose if the country must be transformed amidst the global threats toward mankind.

The Liberian Leader said: “Liberians must resolve to say positive things about their country as they celebrate Independence Day.”

She warned Liberians against negative utterances and admonished them to cultivate a renewed spirit of togetherness for the development of their country.

“Demonstrate the Each One Teach One Approach by saying good things about your country for peace, development, patriotism, love and unity. “ President Sirleaf told Liberians.

Liberia is a founding member of several regional and international organizations, including ECOWAS, African Union and the United Nations, among others.
